KP INNOSERV Supports GL Metal Works in the FIERCE-Funded STEEL-OPT Project

Advancing sustainable steel manufacturing through satellite data and digital innovation.

KP INNOSERV supports GL Metal Works Ltd in STEEL-OPT – the Space-Enabled Steel Scrap and Raw Material Optimisation System – a project selected for funding under the First FIERCE Open Call for Financial Support.

STEEL-OPT integrates Copernicus satellite climate and atmospheric data into industrial decision-making. It aims to optimise raw-material procurement, steel storage conditions and manufacturing operations, reducing steel scrap, corrosion losses and the environmental footprint of steel fabrication.

As the project’s specialised external service provider, KP INNOSERV contributes feasibility assessment, proof-of-concept development, digital decision support and lifecycle environmental analysis.

The project is supported through the FIERCE Financial Support Programme, an initiative funded by the European Union.
