L3MATRIX-Large Scale Silicon Photonics Matrix for Data Centres

  • L3MATRIX develops a large-scale, two-dimensional silicon photonics matrix featuring 128 lanes integrated with a CMOS logic chip to address critical bandwidth and power consumption challenges in modern data centers. The project utilizes embedded III-V laser sources, employing both wafer-bonding techniques and direct growth of quantum dots on silicon to achieve high-density optical integration. By merging high-performance light sources with scalable silicon architecture, the project provides a pathway for low-power, high-speed optical interconnects in massive computing environments.
